New
Home?
Ever noticed how
the homes in your neighborhood keep looking newer and newer?
They’re the same homes, but they have had a facelift. New
siding will knock years off the age of your home. Vinyl siding
is now the number-one siding material. And for a good reason –
nothing beats vinyl siding and accessories and trim for sheer
endurance. Unlike many other siding materials, vinyl is
impervious to rain, cold, salt and snow.
Easy to Maintain
Vinyl siding is easy to maintain. No painting, no scraping.
Won’t rot. Throw your ladder and paint brush away!
Curb Appeal
The real estate people are right. The first time we see a
home we get a lasting impression. All of us want to make a good
first impression. It usually does not cost any more to add
details that take a home from being ordinary to
extraordinary!
Nu-View's designers can make suggestions and show you pictures
of transformations we have done. By coordinating the colors of
the siding, soffits, window trim and corners you can create a
home with great curb appeal.
Here are
some basic color guidelines that you might want to consider.
•
Light colors
make your house look larger.
•
Dark colors make your
house look smaller.
•
Cool colors make features
recede.
•
Monochromatic (all one
color) schemes will unify and simplify the exterior.
•
Contrasting shades add
interest.
Value
Vinyl siding is a
great investment. Residing a home is among the top ten
remodeling projects in terms of overall payback. And if residing
with vinyl, you can often recoup 100% or more of your
investment. Nu-View uses national siding manufacturers such as
Alcoa, Mastic, and CertainTeed to make your home new again.
Styles
Siding is
available in a wide range of styles and colors. From the
traditional double 4 or double 5 (Double 4 means a piece of
siding that has two 4" boards to form one panel.), dutchlap
or shiplap, or beaded siding, you can start the design scheme.
Colors are designed to coordinate with siding and trim colors.
Siding is also available that looks like cedar siding, but with
none of the maintenance of caulking, staining and repairing
cedar.
Special
Treatment
Some areas of your
home can become focal points with the addition of architectural
detailing. Gable peaks are a perfect place to add fish scale.
Shake shingles can be added around porches or entrances. Crown
moldings and mantels add width and prominence to windows and
doors. Shutters can add great color impact around windows.
Updating porch posts with maintenance free aluminum columns will
strongly anchor the front of your home. Fluted or beaded corners
with contrasting colors can be added for period designs of
colonial or Victorian homes.
